Social Issues Partners Meeting

Subject “ The impact of contemporary migrancy in South Lincs


We look forward to seeing and meeting you again for this important discussion which will included a major presentation by Sara Short, the East Midland Strategic Officer for Migrant Workers.


There has been a lot of work initiated over the summer.

·       A new chaplain the Rev William Ruddle has been appointed to serve the south part of Lincolnshire to work alongside the Fensociety project.  His induction is
Wednesday 15th October 7.30pm at St Marys Parish Church Long Sutton PE12 9JJ.  All are welcome to attend.

·       Boston College have created a new interfaith chaplaincy centre which will be opened on the morning of Tuesday 7th October.

·       The Diocesan Education Department in conjunction with CAB have opened a pilot scheme to create information hubs in local schools to help overcome difficulties of isolation and public transport in our county.

·       Our report concerning ‘Poverty in South Lincs’ is steadily progressing.  Thank you to all of you who have already contributed towards this important piece of work.  Our documentary film is also developing.

·       It is encouraging to see new youth initiatives being inspired to start across the region as well as acting to initiate new centres of food banks and credit unions.

·       Our next partners meeting will be on Thursday 5th March in Long Sutton between 10am  - 2pm  in conjunction with the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups.

o       The theme will be Mental Health in the area and the effects of poverty.


We look forward to seeing you on 16th October at the Market House.  There will be a buffet lunch provided.
